A 1099 salesperson is an independent contractor, not a W-2 employee. At Avalon, this means you operate your sales role with a high level of independence while representing our brand professionally in the field.
As a 1099 sales representative, you are responsible for managing your own schedule, taxes, and business expenses, while following Avalon’s sales processes, quality standards, and ethical expectations. You are paid based on performance—typically through commissions—rather than hourly wages or salary.
While you are not an employee, you are still expected to represent Avalon with integrity, communicate clearly with customers, document projects accurately, and ensure a smooth handoff from sale to production.
In this role, you are expected to:
-
Operate as an independent professional
-
Manage your time, expenses, and tax obligations
-
Follow Avalon’s sales guidelines and documentation requirements
-
Represent the Avalon brand accurately and ethically
-
Focus on results, accountability, and customer satisfaction
Being a 1099 salesperson offers flexibility and earning potential, but it also requires discipline, ownership, and a strong commitment to delivering the Avalon experience on every project.
