Objections
Objections: You were able to get your pitch out or partially got it out.
● I have a friend or family member who is going to do it for me…. / I’m not interested, my (church/Son/Neighbor/local contractor) are doing it for me in their spare time.
“ I can respect that you are having them do the work. If you don’t mind me asking, how
long have they been in business? (This answer is they typically are not a company and
just doing the work) Oh I see, one thing that most of the homeowners I have worked with
found, is a lot of comfort working with a licensed and fully insured contractor. It gives
them peace and mind if something does go wrong during or even after the installation. I
also know from experience that even though their intentions are good sometimes family
just can’t find the time to get to it when you need it. We can at least give you another
option to explore in case that does happen. Our quote is at no obligation and comes with
a free inspection…..”
● I’m not interested, or I am very busy right now.
“I can respect that it is a busy time right now, I don’t have much time either and will keep
it short…., (proceed with pitch and don’t hesitate)”
● I have a quote from a competitor that I’m going with. So, I’m not interested.
“I can respect that you have a price already, and I am sure that you chose them because
they are a great company that offers the best quality services that you came across so
far…. However, most homeowners who have worked with us, right here in your
neighborhood, felt the same way and what they found is that our company was a better option for them. #1 reason, because of our reputation. It doesn’t cost you a thing to get a
second opinion and you may be shocked at what other options there are. All I ask is
before you make that final decision you give us a chance to present you some solutions”
● I’m not buying anything!
“I can respect that and I’m not here to sell you anything. We don’t expect you to
have a checkbook or anything like that ready when we come out. This is a no
obligation comprehensive inspection that you can use as a budgeting tool for
future planning. So, when you do get around to replacing your (Product) you
know what it’s going to cost you from a professional company. You will also know
exactly what’s going on with your home to provide you with a piece of mind!
(Proceed to pitch)”
● Do you have a flyer? I’ll just call you when we are ready.
“I would love to give you a flyer, no problem! However, the promotions that we are
running right now are only available for a limited time so once they are gone, they’re
gone. So, while my company is able to provide you with the best product at the best
price, you owe it to yourself to sit down with him and get the special offer while the
promotions last, then you be the judge!”
● I’m not interested now, maybe in the spring/fall.
“ Whenever you do, your roof is entirely up to you. By looking at the condition of
your roof, one thing you should do now is make sure you are not running the risk
of any unforeseen damage that could cost more later. You can also get an idea of
what this project is going to cost for the future and make sure you are not
causing more damage and letting costs add up. (Proceed with Pitch)”
● I am on a fixed income. I can’t afford it.
“I can certainly appreciate that. A fair amount of the customers who we work with are
on a fixed or limited income. Because of that we offer special payments, plans, and
discounts for customers just like you! Since the (Product) is something you are going to
do someday, sit down with my estimator now, get his price and you can decide where to
go from there!”
● Why does my significant other need to be here/I make the decision.
“I can respect that. The main reason is we value everyone’s time. We are going to do a
full inspection as well as show those results and all the possible solutions. This is at no
obligation and our estimator’s time is valuable, so we like to make sure we handle all the
questions at once as we don’t always have time to come out multiple times.”
● When the homeowner tells you to leave or is very angry. Attempt a rebuttal but do not push if they continue to be this way. Move on to the next one.
“Thank you and have a great day”
