Wood Siding, Soffit, Fascia, & Windows

Wood Siding, Soffit, Fascia, & Windows

Wooden Soffit and Fascia are target houses because the problems that can occur are rotting, water damage, and/or pest infestation.

When they have wooden fascia or soffit, it either needs to be painted and maintained or wrapped with metal to be protected from the elements

What is Soffit & Fascia?

Here’s a more detailed explanation:

Fascia:
  • It’s the long, straight board you see running along the roof’s edge, where the roof meets the walls.
  • It provides a surface for attaching gutters.
  • It protects the roof from weather and helps prevent water damage.
  • It also contributes to the overall aesthetic appeal of the house.

Soffit:
  • It’s the exposed surface underneath the roof’s overhang, connecting the fascia to the house wall.
  • It provides attic ventilation, preventing moisture buildup and potential rot.
  • It also acts as a barrier to keep out pests like birds and insects.
  • Soffits can be vented or unvented, depending on the need for airflow.

In essence, fascia and soffit work together to protect your home’s structure, improve its energy efficiency, and enhance its aesthetic appeal.
