Gutters: Gutters defined:
What are gutters?

Gutters also called Eavestroughs: Are long hollow trough like devices that are attached to the eave edges of the roof.

What is the primary purpose of gutters?

Their primary purpose is to catch rainwater and direct it away from the homes facade and foundation.

TYPES OF GUTTER SYSTEMS:
SEAMLESS:
Continuous gutters custom-made on-site to fit your home’s exact measurements from a single sheet of metal, the absence of seams reduces the chance of leaks developing
SECTIONAL:
Sectional gutters, also known as traditional gutters, come in separate pieces that are connected together during gutter installation. This process leaves seams that must be sealed with caulk or solder, depending on the material. Seams increase the chance of leaks developing without yearly maintenance.

GUTTER STYLES:
K-Style gutter:
These gutters look like the letter K from the side and like crown molding from the front. They are easy to install, can hold hidden brackets for a sleeker appearance, and come in many sizes. K-style gutters are the most common style you will see on modern homes.
Half Round gutter:
Half-round gutters are less common than K-style gutters, but they offer a unique, rounded appearance that complements traditional homes. The hangers are exposed but often have an aesthetically pleasing design. Half-round gutters flush out debris more efficiently due to their rounded shape, but they are more difficult to install.
Box-Style Gutters
Though box-style gutters are typically found on commercial and industrial buildings, they’ve been used on residential homes to give them an industrial aesthetic. These gutters are oversized and designed to handle large amounts of rainwater, making them ideal for homes with big roofs. Unlike K-style and half-round gutters, box-style gutters aren’t hung on the edge of your roof. Instead, they have a high back section that tucks under your roof’s shingles. This means they have to be installed while your home is being built.

Gutter size:

5″ Gutters – most common for use on residential roofs.

6″ Gutters- most common for commerical projects.
